New York- the heart of America, its streets- the pulse of the city. Prototype EVO is in response to the dynamics of the New York City streets. Its design incorporates the functions to guide, safeguard and control traffic and pedestrian movement. EVO is a complete integration system allowing for all configurations of the design requirements. EVO is constructed for an evolution allowing for change in use from existing add-ons like the cobra head to the development of future technology. The structure consists of an angular form dividing a square enclosure into distinct functional compartments. Its openings allows for add-on components to be plugged into the structure, protected in some configurations by an interchangeable cover. The detailing of add-on components and their integration defines the design and quality. Variations in the folding and cross section are altered for each of the different configurations. The system is designed for easy maintenance. Above ground access is provided . All openings are secured through security fasteners.
An alternative lighting design integrates the use of LED technology. LED provide a range of advantages including energy efficiency, color correction and reduction of light pollution. The use of RGB LED lights allow for color alteration during different night conditions creating greater visibility.
